Apps reset-Check engine
Just reset the apps voltage to the amount written on the sensor .573,(disconnected ECM plug to get to wire). Now the check engine light is on. Ran the truck and every thing seems fine but the CHECK ENGINE light is still on. Do the codes need to be reset after changing the APPS voltage? Do you need to reset the apps(disconnect neg. battery procedure)? Can you clear the check engine code without purchasing a code monitor? Have only run the truck twice since voltage reset- Should it be run a few more times and see if it clears?
Thanks,
Kevin

tripped codes
To be honest I cannot remember weather or not the truck was on during the procedure. On-off repeatedly.Thanks-that is probably what happened. Do I need to purchase a code monitor to clear the check engine light?( manual thinks so.) Better to just buy a tuner w/ code capability?
THANK YOU

I just recently had an APPS problem with an accompanying check engine light. I reset the APPS according to the written procedure (disconnect batteries, wait for 1/2 hour, depress throttle slowly all the way and let up slowly, reconnect batteries) and the check engine light went out the next time I started the engine. I didn't need to reset the voltage this time. The truck runs fine now.
