Has anyone ever had there APPS go in and out? I was in Fargo at 1230 in the moring and got that good old dead pedal. After looking my keys in my truck resetting the APPS. It worked the rest of the way to Grand Forks, but is it just a fluk or is going to die again and stay dead? or will I be able to take 30 minute breaks on the side of the road, it was 0 degrees outside, to reset it? This is the second time it has died on me. Don't really want to take it to the dealer either is I can replace it. Also how is the APPS price range?

My wife's truck did the same thing today. I downshifted as I was slowing down, then it picked back up and I took it straight to Dodge dealer. It was showing P1693. They said it was the bell housing lever or something like that, ever-what that is. Then another guy said it was like the tps. I dont know what it is, but I hope they fix it. $374+150 labor= yet another pita. One thing I hate worse than a rig that wont start, is one that you're scared to go anywhere in because you figure you'll end up afoot. On the upside, I Dodge'd the inj. pump bullet again.
It's certainly not too healthy. You can try resetting the voltage. I have the instructions to do this at home. If you drop me a PM with your email address, I'll send it to you. I get a lot of requests for this ... it would be nice if someone put it in the tech facts.
Mine had P1693 code. They told me that it was a 1.5 hr job. Since it was the wife's ride I figured I better just go ahead and have them do it. I hate being that shape though. I'm not a great mechanic, but I can do a little. Oh well....as long as they get it fixed, that's the main thing for us. I dont want to have to go six hours or farther to get the trailer and horses after it quits.

Sorry if I sounded like I was criticizing. I was not. It just burns me up that dealers do this. I too have to take mine to others ever now and then for work, and it really burns my rear when they over charge.
