Another satisfied customer here of Timbo's APPS. I had an instance of dead pedal last weekend that set the check engine light. Thought for sure it was going to be the injection pump, had the codes read, P0121, APPS sensor. $502 was the quote from AZ for a new unit.

Emailed Timbo after searching the posts here, and ordered it early Wednesday. It arrived already today, and just finished installing it. Took less than an hour. The enclosed instructions were excellant.

He now has a website dedicated to this product. Kudos for the fast service!

I don't know if posting the link will violate site rules. Search for dodgecumminsappsdotcom on google.

I'm having an ongoing surging issue that appears to be the APPS. I replaced it last November with a dealer unit after my original failed and it worked fine for about 3 months. The truck only surges at certain speeds and might do it this week and not next week. As soon as I step on the pedal it accelerates normally. I've taken my truck to the dealer three times and they can't diagnose my problem. The tech keeps telling me that he can't properly diagonse my problem because of my Walbro pump, even though my fuel pressure gauge says it has 17psi and the rail pressure gauge drops significantly. I've given up on the dealer...

I was debating on whether or not to purchase another APPS from Chrysler and see if it solved my problem but I ordered the Timbo unit after finding out about it. This seems to be a much more cost effective solution to a dealer part and makes me feel better about buying another one. Hope I have as good of luck as everyone is reporting.

unless your tripping an APPS code, you could be replacing something thats not required.
at what speed does it surge? if around 50mph, could be a torque converter locking and unlocking.

It's not tripping an APPS code but it loses rail pressure if I try to maintain 55-65 mph and the truck loses speed and then regains it quickly. Any other time it's fine and I can slow down or speed up without hesitation as it's supposed to. When this happen my fuel pressure maintains 17 psi but my rail pressure drops dramatically. It's been doing this intermittently for the past 7 months. I'm pretty confident that it's not a torque converter - I have a 6 speed

I'm really at a loss as to what it is but the APPS seems the most logical. I doubt it would be the CP3 because it only occurs at that certain speed and I can stand on it and never be starved for fuel. I've already replaced my FCA and I've double checked all of my connections to the Glacier setup. I've done all the primary things - fuel filter, air filter, removed programmers, gauges and anything that could interfere.

I did have my APPS go out about a year ago and it did throw a code after it did it for a few days. When the original failed it did something similar for a day then it got more severe and I started getting a dead pedal and then two days later I got a code and limp mode. I certainly appreciate any input and help because I'm really just grasping at straws trying to figure it out. Everytime I take it to the dealership I leave lighter in the wallet and ticked off from talking to the mechanic. It's the only dealership within an hour that has a diesel mechanic...

I thought you were talking about a 2nd gen, I have limited experience with 3rd's, but I highly doubt a APPS is gonna fix a fuel rail pressure issue, I'd suspect a bad injector or rail pressure sensor or something in the high side of the fuel system.
Maybe the guys over on the 3rd gen side would have some imput to help
If you dont have a thread started already maybe start one in the 3rd gen section, that way we dont derail this thread

Just purchased one, hope this fixes my random dead pedal issues!!! is it unusual for the truck NOT to throw any codes when the APPS goes bad?

I am reluctant to disagree with Chip, but Timbo's sensor solved my cruise stuttering problem, and I got no APPS related codes.
Was blaming my new Adenaline for 6 months till I replaced the APPS sensor, on a hunch.

I can't see it solving a dead pedal issue, but stranger things have happened.
