Is your compressor engaging? If it is, but for short cycle times, it's probably low on freon, which means it's probably got the famous bad evaporator coil. If your the least bit handy with a wrench, you can fix it. I just did mine. I spent $295 doing mine. I got a quote for $800 minimum just to replace the evap coil. It would be extra to do some other things that oughta be done while your in there to save you the trouble of having to go back in.

It's not hard, but you need to take your time and be careful. A friend can be a great help. Heres a thread where we've talked alot about it.

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=201466

Evacuating and charging might be your biggest issue. I did my own, but I've done a few allready. I got a quote for about $100 just to charge it if it had no leaks. Note carefully where it says to get the little dixconnect tools, replace the orings, add 1 ounce of oil per item you need to replace (2 ounces for evap and dryer), and the big one ==REPLACE THE HEATER CORE WHILE YOU HAVE IT APART. And maybe a few more things. You probably will not be able to think of enough bad words when you go thru all of this and your old heater core leaks a week later.
