Good afternoon from a sunny and cold Newfoundland.
I have read through most of the threads regarding the ABS and Brake Light on.
I am leaning towards a damaged rear wheel speed sensor or the associated wiring. I will endeavour to test this circuit through the large plug on the CAB (controller antilock rakes) but do not know the resistance which should be encountered. I would like to know if this speed sensor is actually dead before ordering a new one.
Also probably associated, is that my speedometer only starts to register around 25 KM/Hr.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

???
So, does this sensor off the tone ring send a 5v hall effect signal (square wave) to the speedo? I've been told all of the dodge speedo's run off this signal.
I am trying to come up with a way to run the stock speedo in my 92 ram off the diff, as the standard tranny/tcase I'm swapping in don't have a vehicle speed sensor adaptability.

Update
A week before I was scheduled to take the truck to the local mechanic to have the items fixed, all warning lights returned to normal and the speedometer is also again working . It is good to have a dark dash at night.
It is frustrating not knowing for sure what caused the problem in the first place.

Don't remain. too optimistic that your problem has been resolved through magic smoke or anything else. I am pretty sure that they will return. My vote is still for the VSS at the rear diff or at least in the wiring of same which is prone to damage from dirt and water.
Good Luck and keep the forum posted if/when the problems do return.
Cheers!

frmr,
if you have 4x4 it also has 2 front wheel speed sensors. I had to replace driver side on mine.
BTW, it helps to have a mechanic friend to use an abs scanner to make sure which one if 4x4, b/c they are different depending on driver versus passenger.

Good afternoon to all.
Just finished replacing rear pumpkin speed sensor. Both the ABS and brake light indicators in the dash are finally out.
When taking out the old sensor, the plastic cap broke off and that was the most diffiucult item to get out.
Thanks to all who left their comments which were much appreciated.
