My kids 99 with 105,000 on it seems to Sputter a little while running cold and out of over drive. While in O/D it does not. Batteries are old. Also noticed a check engine light the other day, but it went off. Going to check codes asap. Any thoughts gents.

 

Never had anything like that happen to mine. It would probably be worth replacing the batteries. Its not cheap but seeing as almost everything on the '99s uses electronic signals, battery voltage fluctuating could possible cause some issues (other than starting).

On the sputtering though, I would service your fuel filter as a first step.

The code should hopefully be stored. Would at least give you somewhere to start.
