Pennzoil Syncromesh fluid is the exact same stuff in a different bottle. $5/qt. at Auto Zone.

If you like Synthetics....Redline MTL is the stuff.

It shifts much smoother now that the Redline is in there. The "notchiness" is now gone and I don't have that momentary pause anymore waiting for if to go into gear between shifts.

I've run the Redline MTL for about 15K miles now and HIGHLY recommend it. It's IMHO the perfect lube for the 5600. Others who have driven my truck comment on how it's much smoother than other 5600s.

I think I am going to try the redline. I have changed the fluid in mine and it still shifts like a box of rocks. Seems it got better for a while and now is reverting back to when it was new.

I would love to use in our 03 but for some reason she cares about the warranty in hers.

I changed mine over at 6800 miles to REDLINE MTL.

Best price I could find was at:

http://www.myoilshop.com/AutoPrds.html

It still clashes sometimes when cold from 2-3 but is great when warmed up.

I really don't believe using REDLINE would void the warranty. Especially if you changed it every 15k miles, just like the rear end (In accordance with schedule B). Redline MTL meets or excceeds the MOPAR requirements.Dodge would have to prove that REDLINE oil caused the problem with the transmission. Just like any other aftermarket item you added to your truck. I noticed you already put an AIR RAID intake onto HER truck. That would violate the warranty too, wouldn't it?

The Air RAID was on the truck when we bought it. Besides, I can always put a stock air intake back on; a buddy gave me his old one when he got an aftermarket one.
Even though the Redline meets or exceeds OEM specs it does void the warranty. If there was a tranny problem and I had the Redline in there it would be extremely difficult to get any work done under warranty. Even if I had time to drain it out before it went in and put OEM fluid back in, they would probably do a fluid analysis to try to get out of fitting the bill for the repair.

i run the redline mtl also, it made alot of difference. i recommend pulling the pto cover off the trans. there is a little square magnet in the bottom of the trans. that you need to clean and get an idea how much metal and stuff is floating around in there.i changed mine at 42,000miles, it had small shavings on it but nothing big.

AMsoil in the Transmission...Yeah, when doing my research AMsoil recommend putting the same engine oil in the Transmission, because they don't make a synthetic trans oil for the 5600.

No thanks...that's why I went to Redline...

There's AMsoil in the frt & rear ends, and transfer case, and the engine though...
