5w 40w oil Rotella Synthetic Oil
Is it safe to run Rotella Synthetic Oil when its 5w 40w
, its the only Diesel Synthetic Oil Rotella has to offer that I can find. I live in Kansas and I dont pull in the winter, was just wanting to try some thing different with oil. I usually run Mobil 15w 40w all year round.

Yeah its good stuff. I run it in my wifes car.
I went back to running 15w40 in my pulling truck since I was changing oil so often.
Although, for wintertime driving it can't be beat. Since it makes start up alot easier.

I run Schaeffer's 5W-40 year 'round without any problems either. Oil analysis reports continue to be stellar, and my oil change interval is 15,000 miles.
The "W" stands for Winter rating, as long as the second number is 40, it will be a 40 grade oil at 212F.
The lower the "W" number, the better it will flow at
0F.
