47RE question.

47RE question.
For the past 60-70,000 miles I've experienced an odd cyclical noise from my transmission. OD out and pulling a grade with my trailer (10,000 lbs) I hear a noise (like a bearing) usually at 2400+ rpms that goes away when the rpms drop and/or the OD kicks in. Happens only when towing and under a load. I can't recreate it without the trailer and a load. Checked all the mounts and feel it's related to the transmission. Any thoughts out there.
Also is there a maximum HP that one should avoid for the 47RE. I'm running about 270 and the transmission is stock with an increased volume pan.
Thanks in advance.

The stock transmission isn't strong enough to handle stock HP/ torque without towing anything...ask me how I know.. TWICE.
I think the tranny is strong enough at higher RPMs like gassers will get but since we get all that power right from idle there isn't enough pressure to really lock everything up.
Mine finally got fixed right by having them change the TC, plate and valves to engage faster and at lower RPMs.
Have the tranny rebuilt with the upgrades at least or if you can afford it get one that is optimized for more HP / torque.
