Question 47RE Problem, High Govner Pressure

Since having my Transmission rebuilt about 8000 miles ago I have been fighting a intermitant transmission code. I first noticed that it would start out in 3rd gear after comming to a stop sign. As it turns out the transmission is setting a "Govner Pressure High" code. Uppon having the code diagnosed I had the govner pressure sensor replaced but it made no difference. The problem is erratic and normaly does it once in a while usually after about five or six miles. I'm so used to it I don't even stop, I simply get up to speed carefully, put the truck in neutral, shut it off and restart it. After the restart the transmission goes back to normal and almost never reoccures reguardless of the distance I dirve. The only modifications that I had made to the transmission was the installation of a high flow pump and the BD tripple lock TC. I'm stumped, any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ag Tech 4020

P.S. Any one want to trade for a six speed stick?

valvebody assistant

Dave Goerand sent me a valve body assistant to wire in the harness at the pcm. I had the same issues and was dealing with it for over a year. I replaced the solenoid, lowered the pressure and put a resistor in the harness all to no avail. The VBA has worked for 10,000 miles. Call them at 563-778-2719 or go to their web site. Twogun

You said replaced the tranducer but no mention of gov pres solenoid?? An occasional sticking sol would do the dirty deed you speak of. You make no mention of installing high pressure components in VB so don't understand how the resistor or VBA would come into the picture?? I have seen cases where a little "slick um up" additive was of benefit.

High flow pump

Could the high flow pump do this? I'm no expert on these, just adding my past troubles into the equation. Twogun

Althoe it sounds like I should have I did not have any valve body modifications made to the transmission when it was rebuilt. The only modifications were the high flow pump and the TC.

I would think the high flow pump will increase pressures within the transmission???? The PCM is seeing this higher pressures and throwing codes. Could also put your tranny into limp mode perhaps the odd time. Talk to Dave and install the proper resistor between the two proper wires at the PCM. This will fool the PCM and allow you to run higher pressures.
