Does it have a dummy TC to run the PTO, or does the driveshaft go directly into the tranny tailhousing? If you have the fake transfer case, it is the same trans as the 4X4.

Wow, I never guessed that this could be done. I also have a 2wd and would love to convert to 4wd. Is this really a feasible thing to do?

Thanks....gary

He has a cab and chassis, of which many, if not all came essentially 4WD anyway. They had the 4WD control arms and a dummy front axle, most if not all also had a dummy Transfer Case to run the PTO.

Since you don't have a C&C, no luck for you.

In you cab, do you have a lever to engage PTO where the normal Transfer Case lever would be? If so, you would have the dummy TC.

You probably have a 2WD trans then, still not terrible, the rear cases in cast iron are under 200 bucks on Ebay, and you really should do the mainshaft upgrade for the 5th gear nut, so it is a perfect time to convert your 2WD trans to 4WD. There was even a 241DHD TC on Ebay with the right 29 spline input for 650 bucks a couple day ago, might still be on there.
