2001 with 185k miles,has a rough idle. Seems to be fairly consistent with the almost a (miss) sound. Runs fine when you give it some pedal. Any ideas?? Injector??

 

With that many miles may want to pull all the injectors and have them pop tested. Pressure should be approximately 31,026 kPa (310 bars) or (4500 psi ± 250 psi). If fuel injector needle valve is opening (popping) too early or too late, replace injector.

 

You could also crack the injector lines one at a time with the engine at idle.. Sometimes you can isolate a bad injector or a dead hole that way..

Any codes?

 

Is APPS a possibility here? Mine would cause a weird hitch in the idle and at steady speed. I know this is an at idle condition, but just throwin it out there....

 

any recent service. has this been a issue with any recent cold weather? any codes? last time you changed fuel filter? my apps when it was slowly going out would give me more of a dead spot in the rpm around 1900-2100 and would almost stick and be flat. but never around idle rpm. would think it wouldn't start if the apps was off that bad??

also if never done check all contacts and grounds. our electrical system can cast same gremlins. have you ever or do you run any fuel treatment? bought fuel from same places?

 

You guys bring some some good points on electrical issues. Years ago my Edge comp caused a miss at idle... If you have a power module, disconnect it entirely see if that helps..
