2001 Engine Quick question

The mechanic of the dealership that I found the truck at said that the only number he found on the bottom of the block was, "5301". I'm assuming then that this isn't the dreaded and feared "53" block and that I won't have to worry about the problems associated with them?

:Obviously, I will re-check it when I go down there this weekend, just to be sure:

If it was a 53 itwould just say 53. If it is a series of small numbers then it is the good Mexican block. The 53 will be in 1 inch tall numbers cast in the block. Hopefully you will get the good one. For reference my 01 has the 56 block, a good thick one.

The cast number is on the block below the VP-44 and is about 1- 1.5 inches high.............should only be 2 numbers anyway thats all I have ever seen

SWEET!!!

I'm going to Saturday to do the in person double extra safe check then bringing the new beast home with me.

Im going to start with suspension, guages and exhaust. Then I'll move to a fueling box and intake and from there, the sky is the limit(after a built trans of course )

The out of focus locknstitch pics are mine. So far I am good. I have not really towed heavy yet. That will be real story if locknstitch is going to be an answer! I am going on my 6th week.
Dry as a bone so far! I really wanted to give Stamey some good pics.
