Is truck stock? Have fuel in tank? above 1/2, you can hear lift pump running when you bump starter? Crack fuel line open at injector, crank over engine any fuel coming out?

Have not done a lot sitting on side of road. Yes could hear lift running, gauge reads just under half and the check engine light came on. Have ran out with 46 left to go now says 163. Hoping just out of gas

without turning engine over, cycle the key on, then off 3 times and then leave the key on. The codes should show down in the odometer window, let us know what codes are stored.
Could be simple, could be a dead IP, we don't know until we can see what code is thrown.

Do the key on trick.

0460 is the code for the fuel level sensor, so you may have a bad tank sensor. It's a somewhat common problem on our Rams.
Mine did it to me and it showed ¼ tank when it died/ran out of fuel. Would not restart until I filled the tank and re-primed the injector lines.

Double check that last one, P1643 is a fuel circuit similar to the one jrs describes.
If it was P1693 then we are talking about a companion code that is stored in the ECM though, and that could be IP troubles.
