1693 code=dead truck

Driving down the road last night truck died...Started right back up but will only idle, when you press on the throttle it runs really bad and sounds like its about to break in two.
Checked the codes with the key trick and it only shows 1693.
Any ideas?

Feel free to use it anytime you like .

...just made me think of the Edge EZD1000c I have laying on my bench. Every once in awile a truck I was looking at would run like crap and set a rail psi fault code. Been running great for a month now with the box off of it. We were going to send it in to have checked, but I think he's looking at going with a stronger TST set up.

unhooked the "toys" and it still does the same thing.
Cracked the injectors and it takes forever to get even a little fuel out of them.
When it does start, it idle like crap and barely does anything when you press on the pedal.
I got a scanner and came up with a 1688 code.

that is even worse than the 0216. you are in the market for a new injector pump (vp44) sorry to be the one to have to tell you the bad news

well 1688 is internal pump failure where 1689 is no connunication between the ECM and pump, check the plug on the pump

Yep! It sounded like a pump issue, and the 1688 verifies that. Happy shopping!

Being you are in AZ give SW Diesel a call in Phoenix.
