when i turn the key and wait to start i here a noise that i think is comeing from the fuel filter of somewhere around there and it sounds like it is really weak and about to go out and it stops when the wait to start light goes off....does something need to be replaced?

When you key over to run you should hear the lift pump cycle but without a gage to monitor the fuel presure you cant tell by sound i have heard stock pumps the flow great be noisy as heck and some a just a quiet lil humm and flow good so you need the fuel pressure gage to be in the know of what the lift pump is doing
