0522 code questions

My truck has been hard to start lately, so I replaced both batteries (6 years and 156K on the original batteries). Before I replaced the batteries, I checked the codes with the on/off trick and got the following code:

P0522 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage

I don't see a drop in oil pressure and no oil leaking from the truck. Replacing the batteries solved the hard start issue. My questions are:

1) Can weak or dying batteries trip this code?
2) Will this code clear itself or is it set until you manually clear it?

Try unhooking both your negative battery cables. Then go inside the truck and turn the key forward to the on position. Let it sit like that for about 30 min-1 hr. Go back, switch the key to off. Reconnect the battery leads see if that solves the issue.
