hey guys i have a few ? i can get a 01.5 or 02 rear end with the disk brakes and everything brand new for next to nothing $$$ money wise! my truck is a 99 what all would have to be changed to put a 01.5-02 dana 80 rear end under my truck? im asuming new master cylinder and maybe different brake lines? im getting one for my 99 2500 QC 4x4 CTD one for my dads 98 2500 QC 4x4 CTD and one for my freinds 95 2500 ext cab 2wd! any info will be great!! im very excited about this!! ;D i have seen the kits for this conversion and that is just rediculas way to much $$$$! You might need different brake cables and the location where the brake line connects will likely need to be modified, but there shouldn't be anything else different. With the kits, I never see a master cylinder change involved so I doubt the master cylinder is different.

Since you're gettin 'em, if you can get me one I'll drive up to get it. ;D Seriously, how much?

no change in master cylinder a? thats cool i thought maybe since it was changing to disk brakes it might have more pressure or something that it needed a bigger master cylinder! mostly what i was asking if there was any modification that was different on them. <br><br> well will just say i have a few connections <br>now price well my dad got a 02 dana 60 for $750 brand new with rotors and everything! so probally a few $$$ bucks cheaper. ill just have to c!

sorry dont think there will be a discount since i have a few trucks! well i drive my 99 right now since my 93 doesnt feel like running for some reason and my 91 is in need of some shop time. the 83 needs some repair work also but i can still drive it it used to be my fav. till i got my 93 diesel cause it smokes and the 75 needs a new engine! lots of projects all the parts and peice to fix all but no time! and a few extra dollars wouldnt hurt either! <br><br>ya ill let ya know what i can actually get! i do know its going to be alot cheaper than the kits they sell and alot easier if theres no fab work involved! cant wait!

 

i have a 01.5 with a disk brake dana 70 3.55 gears &amp; lsd.i would trade for a dana 80 in a heart beat.my axle only has 16,000 miles on it.i just wanna go bigger please let me know how i can get one or if you can get me one.thanks kurt.

I put disc brakes on another truck before and you may need to get a proportioning valve. The brakes may not grab hard enough.

 

One change would have to be made, disk brakes use no check valve, drum brakes do. Should be easy to take out of the master cylinder.

 

the only news i got so far is i can get 2 right now! going to order them hopefully this week if not monday! so far what i have only found out to change is master cylinder and brake lines everything else should bolt right up?
