01 ho 6 speed?

hey i'm looking ast gettting a 01 6spd ho 3500 dually, is there anything i should be concerned with or checking into?

What he said + cycle the key three times and leave on without starting to read codes on an 01-02. P0216 = $1500

I don't think you need to worry about a 53 block in a '01.

some of the early six speeds had inferior syncro`s,if you can , ck the condition of the lube in the trans,,,if it looks like it has a lot of brass in it then it may need new synchro rings to fix it is not cheap. mine cost about $1900

Supposively, it is possible to get the 53 block on an 01. Especially an early 01. I've looked at 4 or 5 01.5s and none had the 53. All the 98, 99 and 00s I saw did have the 53 block.

Also, I thought the NV5600 didn't use brass synchros? Thought the 5 speed did. Been told the the 6 speed uses synchros that look like a motorcycle clutch disc?

My 02 6 speed had brass synchros. I can tell you this because the reverse went out at about 30,000 and I help all two thousand piece in my hand....pieces of crap.....
