My 01 3500 has discs at four corners. Is this the 01.5 revision? does this change anything else? What are other differences between 01 and 01.5. Thanks guys

 

If it has discs on all 4, then it is an 01.5, don't know of any other differences.

Aside from the disc brakes the only other real differences were in the form of equipment deletes. Such as the rear cup holder, vanity mirror lights, hood liners, things like that. This topic has come up many times in the past and it seems that they continued to build the trucks with those items until they ran out. It seems there is no telling what standard equipment came with them as everybody was different due to the different assembly lines running out of different equipment at different times. Mine for example was only missing the lighted vanity mirrors but came with everything else I think. It was built nov 00 in mexico.

 

Mine has a rear cupholder and seems to be complete. Are the rear brakes easier to change because of the discs? Pull the caliper slide the disc? Its 2wd, does that mean the fronts have the bearing in the rotor? i.e. repack the bearing if I change rotors? Thanks guys

 

They also did not paint the radiator,to save cash I guess.

 

02 was the only year that the radiator, condensor, and intercooler were left "natural". Only other thing I've seen different was the exhaust manifold bolt retainers. I believe that was an 01 and newer thing.

 

I prefer the au naturale look on my 02s. I think it improves cooling a bit.

Since my truck is such a late build, it's really stripped-- no wheel liners, no cupholders, no nothing!

ran out of parts in the parts bins, therefore it gets deleted! of course, there's still a few hundred frames/bodies to finish... they'll never miss the seats and steering wheel, milk crates and vice grips are part of the 'package'
