Just a swag but going on the idea of an air leak check the connections at the electric pump, then run the electric pump and see what comes out at the injector pump input. It's likely gonna be air-entrained for a while then clear up (the electric pump will push through the lift pump check valves). Then just wet your injectors and drive home. I have an electric pusher pump and have found it handy for this sort of job as well as filling new fuel filters, and in my case pumping out a bunch of water contaminated fuel. The down side is that air leak possibility since it's on the "pull" side of the lift pump

There is supposed to be an o-ring in the fitting that connects to the pump.

Ok im lost
So far I have run a hose from lift pump to a can of diesel and it still does it, so its after the pump....could it be my injection pump?

once agian I can bleed the injectors of air and it will crank and idle for about 20 seconds and if I dont give it the gas it will cut off but I can keep it going if im giving it fuel but its still rough......

and I cannot seem to get an o-ring to fit in the fitting on the pump. I slide it on the shaft and then try to put the line on and it wont "buckle" I guess.

That don't sound good, it ought to run fine out of a can of fuel if the suction side was the trouble.

How recent is the fuel filter?

Right now I have a line run to a can of diesel to the lp and I cracked the injectors open to bleed some air and it cranked up and then shut off........

Idk what else to test besides the ip....and idk how to do that....

When it is running is it smooth? How about smoke?
Wanna wouldn't the ip pull enough fuel at an idle for him to plumb everything out except the ip? Like run a line from the pump into a can of fuel.
That would elimanate(spelling?) from the lp to the ip.

Well after I get done bleeding some air it will crank and idle descently for about 15-20 seconds then will idle down and cut off.....but if I hold the throttle and idle it higher it will stay running but very very rough until it gets to higher rpms

Do you have a good connection/voltage to the shut off solinoid? (that's a streach but thought I would throw it out there)

I would try and elimanate all possibiltys before saying the IP. Wanna may chime back in here and say if the IP would suck enough fuel at idle with out anything supplying it. Before all of this happend were you noticing anything else with the truck, low power, smoke, hard start?

No it ran fine.......

Like I said I bougt the truck with electric pump on it but not hooked up.........well I hooked it up and ran it but then when it wasnt on it would miss fall on its face till I would turn the electric pump back on. I just got done putting my 5 speed in and we took it down the rd, it sputtered and cut off, we pulled off and hooked up the electric pump, went on down the rd and it sputterd and cut off agian but this time it wouldnt crank back.....now I have to bleed the injectors to get it to run at all

Yes, it would pull its own fuel just fine. I'd connect to the line from the lift pump so the fuel gets filtered first. The VE will pull fuel through the filter no problem.

This is really sounding like a bad VE to me.
