Beds are the same 81 to 89 and 90-93, regardless of engine, gvwr or anything else

The 81-89 used a bracket to contact the frame. The 90-93s had the frame bent up to eliminate the bracket. Cut the bracket off and a 81-89 fits a 90-93. Need to add some support for heavy weight if running a 90-93 on a 81-89 frame

This has been hashed out repeatedly on RCC and moparts

I used to tag along with OTR drivers for Bekins and people drive even worse around big trucks than they normally do.

Except for a Dually bed.

Although the beds are the same, how about the tailgate, are they all interchangeable?
How about the straps?

Wondering.

Dually tailgates had the lights, but otherwise they all fit from 81-93, even the LE tailgates from 91-93.

Straps/hinges are the same from 72-93

Dually beds had the bigger wheel cut-outs, where the fiberglass fender attached.

Tailgates will fit but the LE models will have a bunch of holes to fill.
