Why be normal........Tranny ???

I am going to go the other route and have a couple of Powerflites that I had run behind a couple of supercharged '92s....

Kinda miss the older trannies....how hard would it be to get one of these behind my 5.9?

I have to ask why first?
They might be a though old tranny, but I don't think they would hold up too well with the kind of torque a cummins churns out.
I don't know what would be involved in getting it to mount up, but I'm sure some sort of adapter would have to be made. You would also have to have a torque converter with a low stall made up to work right. I guess you could have a converter made so it will bolt to the stock flexplate.
With 3.73's and no overdrive, I hope you don't want to drive highway speeds with the thing either.
Personally I think putting a 47RH in is the way to go, the 727/A518/47RH share the same heritage and some parts.

Just because they were lying around....guess I'll toss 'em up on fleabay and see about getting me a bigger turbo. Went through the garage and found all my old gasser stuff....5 torque convertors stalls ranging from 4200 - 5800 (don't think they are gonna work with my smoker ) still have about 6 sets of 392 heads (gonna keep my signed ones..Shirley and Don each signed one back in the mid 70's)

Wonder if the Littlefield 14-71 would work or if I use my Scotts.....how much boost can you really throw at a 5.9????? Do you think an old 'E fuel leak could be converted to #2???

It's just frustrating to have all this old iron lying around and then walk out and look at my dually and just wonder what if???
