Who makes a good 1st gen down pipe?
Who makes a good 1st gen down pipe?
I am thinking about redoing the exhaust system on my crew cab 4x4 Cummins using an leftover stainless 4" performance exhaust system for a 2nd gen.
I am thinking if I get a good 1st gen down pipe [non I/C '90 CTD]
and the funny bend bit that goes around the transfercase, I will re-use the back half of the exhaust I have.
Anyone have any good exhaust companies they like for that sort of stuff?
Thanks

I've been told the 2nd gen downpipe works if you have the elbow that comes off an HX35 or similar.
Sourceautomotive.biz, Flo Pro, and Stans Headers makes 1st gen downpipes. Expect to shell out at least 190 clams with a billet 3" adapter welded to it for your stock turbo, or a 4" welded to it (like an hx40). I would buy a transfer pipe too since they are more difficult. They are about 80-90 and seem more worth it for the price compared to the downpipe (pretty easy to make).
