Where can I get a 1st Gen Timing Dial

Does anyone know where I can get the correct timing dial for 91.5-93 VE pumps.
The book says says Cummins Tool Division dial indicator part # 3377259 but I can’t find one anywhere.
is there another part number a substitute I can get.

Here's the one I made. Standard MM dial gauge, and an adapter made from a bolt, a piece of aluminum round, and a thumb screw. BTW, VolksWagen VE timing gauge is the same thing.

Did you drill out the center of the threaded rod? Trying to picture how you would get a reading off the cam with a solid piece of rod.

Yes. I believe it started as a bolt, got set up in a drill press and drilled, then cut off. Aluminum standoff is threaded to take the stud in one end, and drilled to clear the outer sleeve of the dial indicator in the other end. The thumb screw is 6-32 standard computer junk), hole drilled and threaded in the side of the aluminum spacer. The center rod of the dial indicator goes through the entire setup. You use the timing pin to find TDC #1, back the pin off, and back down the crank 5° or so, install the dial indicator and wind it up a turn, then lock it down and zero it, then move the crank back to TDC, sensed with the timing pin. Then rotate the IP to get the proper plunger travel, spec on the tag on the timing cover. Lock it down, back off the timing pin, remove your tools and put the plug back in.

At that point you can put your scratch mark on the pump indicating factory TDC, and modify your timing from that as you wish, ie 1/8" toward the head.
