Re:Whats this 91 worth?

I'm not sure where you are, but around here in South Carolina I would say you could fetch 9 to 10 if it is that nice. There are not a lot of Dodges around here for sale. I have been looking lately and it seems that people dont turn loose a Dodge Cummins to easily and if they do Its sold pretty quick. I hope this helps.

Re:Whats this 91 worth?

It depends where you are, but around the Vancouver, B.C. area good clean CTD's especially first gen trucks are hard to find and they hold their value. I have turned down $18,500 Can (13,000 US) for my 92, 4x4, 5 spd, LE with 107,000 km.
You may have found a "gem". Good luck and keep us posted.
---
Al

$8-9k pretty easy I'd say, if it's got great paint and no rips in the interior

Re:Whats this 91 worth?

I'm of the opinion that KBB, NADA, and edmunds are WAY off on values for the 89-93 cummins trucks. Edmunds for instance adds like $250 to the price of a gas truck and calls it good. I think there's too small of a supply of clean first gens for anything but ebay, autotrader.com and such to determine the FMV.

Ok, this is rwarren on a diff user name (dont ask long story ). Anyway i dont much like kbb becaue it prices that 91 cummins at 6410$ Which seems afully cheap, i've seen a 90 that was the 3 spd auto body in not so good shape, tires that needed replaced with 230,000 miles on it and the dealer was asking 6900 and wouldn't drop below 6100

Re:Whats this 91 worth?

Well its still there so its been sitting for awhile, i still havn't got time to go and drive it or atleast hear it run or get any pics, i'll drag my dad down with me sometime and see what he things, the real only problem i'm having with it is its an automatic, he says its been rebuilt but its still an auto, dont know if its going to be strong enough to take what i want to do with it. Another problem i'm having with the truck is they say its only been used to tow a 28 ft trailer behind it (camper trailer) and thats all it was used for but it still somehow got 171,000 miles on it in 13 years (avg of 13,153 miles a year), however i talked to his son so i'm not quite sure if its whole life it was used for towing or just recently.

Re:Whats this 91 worth?

If you guys want a true storie about a 1st gen lover who ran auto's read this. This guy is a local road builder who runs 3 first gen dodges all 4x4 CDT 1ton flatbed and 3spd auto. His trucks never weight under 10,000 lbs, with fuel tanks tools parts ect for his company. His first truck ,a 91, which he bought new now has over 350K org everthing including trans. The current truck he has is a 93 with almost 200,000. This truck pulled a loaded 3 axle dump truck @ 48000lbs (+or-) out of the brush and out to his shop when the dump trucks trans blew up and the pto gear trashed the pto. This was more than enough to testify that these autos were tough. This truck is also still org and he is having know problems with it yet. There are atleast 2 more guys who do the same type of things with theirs and haven't had any trouble.

Well thats my two cents on dodge autos

Paws

Re:Whats this 91 worth?

Here in middle coastal californny I got my 93 250,2wd,auto,LE package, CTD ,72k, new trans, new michelins, running boards, air bags, 5th wheel hitch, massaged pump, near mint inside, xlnt out with the exception of a few paint flakes comming off at the rain gutter, for 7k two years ago. It was babied by the 70 year old owner, but used to pull a 28` 5th wheel trailer around the country. I go 4k-5k between oil changes ,and the oil is still as clean as when I put it in, somehow that scared me. I wish I could find a 1st gen 4x4 for a reasonable price now. sounds like a good deal?? You cant beat these for trucks. good luck, buy a CTD, the real diesel, Good luck!!!!!!!!

Re:Whats this 91 worth?

What i'm asking is whats a fair offering price for this truck (found a pic from the ad)
I'm thinking that the Auto will be fine for me for awhile, i know that i can't turn the motor up that much without starting to make the transmission slip so i'll leave it pretty much stock while i pay for it then no one knows what i'd do with it ;D
