What gears?
They're actually great gears for all but the heaviest towing applications. Problem is, they're a non-ic dodge-only axle, so it's tough to come by parts for them. Coupla guys are running them with the five speed and are turning like 1600 at 75 with stock tires and getting great mileage. I'd switch if I had the chance.
I think they would be fine with the 35's. The engine in your sig likely doesn't lack for the low end torque to overcome the gearing 'dis-advantage'
235-85's are only a couple inches shorter. Other thing is, the axles are prolly worth what you're going to give for the truck, so if you don't like 'em, you'll be $$ ahead by the time you sell the axles and other parts from the rig.

I should have my intercooler done by next weekend and take it on a trip then....hoping to break 30 easily.

I love my 307 gears. I think 23.5mpg was my best on #2. Its probally one of the only vehicles that I have driven that doesn;t feel rung out at hwy speeds. 1750rpm @ 72mph. I'm tempted to buy a 2wd and put a 307 with a 5spd in it and see what kind of mileage I can get.
