Could you post a pic from the rear ?

I'm interested in seeing the rear view of the truck, and what you did with the tailgate.

Thanks !

If the tailgate still has the chev/gmc logo on it maybe you could 'trim to fit' a panel off of an LE gate to cover over it? I know Summit has good repro steel gates for GM stepsides that are plain with no logo for like 140$ in their restoration section. Off topic a little but Summit now has Southbend clutches and Diamond Eye exh systems. The DE system for our trucks is 265$

It's awesome.

That is a great option for anyone who cannot locate a bed in case theirs is rusted out or hit by someone on the road.

Mine was hit and I had to get a bed skin from Oklahoma! Farmers Insurance wasn't too happy. They tried to "total loss" it.

I had other ideas...

It sure is a look your not expecting to see...doesn't look too bad though. I too would like to see the tailgate, and truck from the back.

Like it even more now. You need to move that tailpipe though, reminds me of a ricer's fart tube.

Perhaps a nice Dodge across the middle of the gate?

Yep, looks good wouldn't change a thing. I also like the panel, I have a 53 Chev panel.

I think it looks great. Personally I would want that "Cummins Turbo Diesel" emblem on the other side though. That is where they were put on the ram tailgates. And a "Dodge Ram" or "Dodge" decal in flat black in the center of the gate would look super.

I have to agree on the tailpipe as well....a turn like the stock set up, or a short dump just behind the rear of the box fender. Other wise great job!!

i'm going to have to repaint the truck.so ill move the cummins logo.are you sure it came from the factory on the right side in 1989? i don't remember. i also want to put a dodge decal in the center of the gate.can't decide on the style of lettering and how big to make it. i'm thinking block style like the 50's trucks used.what do you think? tail pipe sucks! need to do something there.wanted to go with a stack, but i will have to cut the step and step bracket and make a new support for the step.bottom line,i'm to lazy for all that. think i should just turn it out like original? don't care for the 4 inch pipe, but truck is turned up and needs to breath.

I personally think stack(s) would ruin the look..but that's just me.

1989/90 had the emblem onthe lower RH side of the tailgate....LE or not.

LE Trim...

No LE Trim...
