Don't remove all the old fluid, the old clutches need some of the "stuff" that's in the old fluid for good friction.

doing a COMPLETE flush in an old transmission is Death to the trans......

I say nonsense to this old myth! Ive had mine flushed with BG Servicing and never had a problem. The guy even put in Synthetic fluid! (friend of mine)Why would I want to pollute the fresh with the old!

I have a 90 w250le, with the 3 speed auto and was wondering if i have any options for od short of replacing the tranny.

Yes,
You can install a Gear Vendor Under/Over between the transmission and differential.
