the windows and blower motor might be a separate issue from the rest. sounds like the fusible link might be going bad. should be the orange fusible link connected to a pink wire. are all the fuses good?

sounds like it may be time for you to do the blower motor relay upgrade. if that pink wire is starting to melt then that is most likely why your blower motor and windows quit working. if you put the blower motor on relays it should remove stress off the pink wire but you should probably replace the pink wire. i think it should run from the ignition switch to the fuse panel.

I can see switch contacts deteriorating with age and heating up till failure, but a wire, including a fusible link shouldn't.

Odds are good your heater motor is nearing end of life and drawing excessive current.

I just recently had this issue... windows/blower worked fine, then suddenly quit altogether. Funny thing is, when I would depress the window switch, my wait to start light, brake and water in fuel would come on..

The problem wound up being the fusible links, pink( faded red actually) with black trace if I recall correctly, and one of the two smaller brown wires..
here's a link to my thread on it..
