It does regen and does so about every 37 hours per the Time Since Last Regen display which is burried in the computer display menus. There are no lights for a regen while moving but if a Stationary Regen is needed it will turn on a High Exhaust Temp warning light and a Do Not Stop Engine light although ive never seen it do that. You are warned in the manual to not have the exhaust pointed at anything flammable or park over any thing combustible.

New diesel truck filters linked to fires, explosions, but officials unbudged

Yeah, the burning smell was how somebody knew that they had just interupted a regen, although most people had no clue what a regen was,, but would post on the forums about a nasty burning smell when they shut their car down. Of course, they had interrupted a regen. There is an American gal here that has a pretty cool diesel Mercedes rv, 2014 IIRC. As far as I can tell, there are no gas station here in Mexico the sell ultra low sulfur diesel, except a few on the Baja and farther down in Mexico. I asked her if she put Mexican diesel in her MB and she said yes, but that the dealer said that it was ok . If the VW dpf cost 6k, I can't even imagine how much an MB one in an expensive RV would cost. I recommended that she find a way to get more fuel capacity on her rig. What morons at the dealership to tell her that...Mark

DPF requirement

According to this:

https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/decsinstall/faq.htm

DPF is only required for Diesels made from 1993-2006.

AND

GVWR over 14,000 pounds.

Glad to have that sorted out.

Well, I don't know about that, but my 2014 VW Bug had a dpf, required or not, but I think that is was. It was a major factor in determining whether or not VW could fix them or had to buy them back. VW gave me more than I paid for it, 3 years after I bought it. Thanks VW ...Mark

The DPF's on big rigs are rebuildable and the smaller vehicles are generally not, although there are a few outfits that say that they can open them up and clean them out. For example:

Flash Cleaner Machine - DPF Cleaning System ...Mark Edit: Found this:

All modern diesel cars come with a Diesel Particulate Filter, or DPF. We explain why you need to know about DPFs and DPF cleaning. ... It stands for diesel particulate filter and its job is to do exactly, that: filter out the toxic and microscopic particulates emitted in your car's exhaust....from here:

Also, wait, you may be seeing them on gassers too:

Eventually we'll all be walking because cars and buses will be outlawed. We won't have electric light either because electricity generation pollutes. We'll be fitted with CO2 masks to filter our breath and we'll have to wear methane filtering diapers. Meat will be a thing of the past as only CO2 scrubbing plants will be allowed to exist.

Politicians of course will be exempt from these laws for national security reasons.

That sir, is good old fashioned customer appreciation. My guess is because of this you have a loyal customer base and excellent reputation. You are also, unfortunately, a dying breed...

I think a lot of folks had to "customize" it around the 205, I did.

Plus added a piece of rubber hose (vacuum maybe?) to the frame rail in case when in a twist it would touch and soften the rattle.

My thoughts are like this.

In actuality the contract I have them sign says I get paid every time I go to plow their store or homes. I could charge them, but imagine if a storm dropped 1 inch or so of snow on your driveway, and your plow guy cleared it for you, and sent you a bill? Wouldn't you feel cheated?

The physical time and wear on my truck is miniscule. Some folks don't even know I'm there until they look out and their drive is black. Then they get
" This one is on me" notifications.

Clearing the light storms provide them a safer walking surface that's not all frozen ruts and footprints, as overnight it all fréezes up. It makes it easier for me the next time I plow, cause I'm not dealing with that uneven surface of icing from a light storm gone by. Less wear and tear on the plow, not breaking up ice.

They feel good, I get the day out, and the next time a real storm comes through, they don't complain about being charged for a bill that's big because I was there twice, or 3 times clearing an 18" dump on their property.

My wife isn't thrilled I don't charge for these storms, but that's okay, as I'm used to that by now.

Lol

Drove around in the beautiful brown air, of Southern California. I’m really starting to think that there may be something to the chem trail theory. I see the grid pattern in the sky and everything turns brown for the next 3 days. Yuck! Truck ran great though

Yup, That sounds a lot more scientific than particulate matter in the air put there by the industriousness of human activity, you should write a paper on it...Mark
