I got the cab in Primer / surfacer. Now I have to wet sand, seal and paint.

Not today but of the past 2 weeks or so. Tire blew out and 1 other had a chunk missing, dry rot...so since there was only 3 215s available and not 235s I ended up throwing on some 245/75s. Also hit the rear wheels with some aluminum cleaner, came out decent so this weekend will hit the side steps and the fronts, replace the MC and finish plumbing the exhaust to dump in front of the duals.

Today, I did my brakes again...

Last time was in August of 2012 where I replaced rotors, calipers, studs, hoses, pads etc. I was stoked to find "USA made" rotors as NOS at my local napa. Well, that didn't do didley. What I thought would last me a decade didn't even last two full years.

So again,

New rotors, pads, hoses, calipers, grease seals

Depressing.....

Man that sucks T-man. I know the "new" rotors I put on the front axle in the crewcab are warped out of the box. I have to find time to pull them off and get them down to the machine shop to be straightened out.

New auto parts are just absent of quality, from what I've experienced.

Besides the 8 hours dis-assembly, cleaning, repacking bearings, getting new parts, pressing the new rotors on, bleeding the brakes, etc.... it's the $375 out of pocket again that grinds my gears. You would think that after replacing everything 22 months ago, swapping out a set of pads less than a year ago, that I wouldn't have to change everything out again.


The passenger side caliper must have stuck, as the rotor which looked good from the outside, when removed, had a channel dug into the backside that was as wide as the pad. What I thought would be a "pull the rotors and have them cut" turned out to be a lot more, because that rotor wasn't able to be trimmed.
