While not exactly rare car I turn down about one person a month interested in a 68 Mustang a Fastback in the corner of my driveway. The car is a a basic C code that needs a complete overhaul. I use the standard excuse, Someday I'll get to it.

at least you're in California, and not the rust belt, and the car has a chance for survival.

There's a 1950's Dodge Power Wagon relatively local to me that's sitting behind a barn going to rot and ruin. Sinks a little deeper every year. A buddy of mine went to see if the guy was interested in selling it a couple years back. The owner told him in no uncertain terms to get the (edited for DTR) off his property. He also told him that he'd shoot him if he ever saw him on his land again and grabbed a shotgun from behind the door of the house for emphasis. A simple NO would've worked just as well. Some people...

I've had good and bad outcomes with rotting away vehicles. Used to drive neighborhoods looking for them. Bought a 51 Chevy 5 window truck for $500 one day just by knocking on the guys door and asking about it. Told me it hadn't run in 2 years. Jumper cables and a can of ether later and I drove it about a mile home.

I've also been looked at like a crook and made felt very unwanted more than once, lol

It's a square cut O-ring, but I just took one of the old ones down to the auto parts store and matched it up with a round O-ring.....cost me under a dollar for all six. Been working great for years now.

Doooh....Hope it doesn't require too much re-engineering.

This morning I made a wrench to hold the fan hub so I could get the fan clutch off. Took the fan clutch, fan standoff and fan shroud off.

This afternoon I came up with a fix for my broken fan shroud mounting tabs.
