Well, here is the new '74 crew cab

It ain't exactly pretty but it will be. Been driving it around after straightening out some mechanical issues. Thing runs good. Here is a pic after we loaded it up and stopped at a motel for the night before driving home and one after I got it home and cleaned it up a bit. My old 1st gen CTD never missed a beat. 9000 pounds, 70-75 MPH no problem. The exhaust temps hit a 1000 degrees a couple times climbing the hills though. It's a 360 with a 1850 Holley and a Edelbrock performer RPM intake on it. It's begging for a cam bad and some headers. NP435 trans and 4.10 gears in the D44 and D60 differentials. Divorced NP205 transfer case.

Probably be Cummins powered in 2 or 3 years.

Need a right rear door panel as there isn't one on it. So if anyone has one they are willing to part with or a pair of 80's rear door panels please let me know.

Congrats. Is it a 80's door or 70's? We have a '76, I can see if dad wants to part it.

It's a 70's and I would really appreciate it if your dad would. If it has a decent, non butchered dash I would be a buyer for that as well. Thanks!

I drove it in the 90's until the floor rusted out too bad and the whole body just collapsed onto the frame.

I'll ask him and look at the door piece. The dash, I think, has done the usual sun rot - other wise I'd be putting it on my '77 M880. You do mean the plastic dash pad right?

Yeah. Mine doesn't actually look to bad but the ears for the cluster bezel are gone. As is the bezel and the cluster has been hacked to install some piece of crap radio.

This is all I have to work with. And the circuit board and ammeter are bad too. I jumped the circuit board and got the fuel gauge working though.

Can you replace the whole dash with a later model one

I think you could, but it would require windshield out, and some modifications to the firewall for the HVAC unit and mounting of the dash itself.

There are some issues doing that the worst of it is the steering column is mounted higher than the later models. Also the wiring harness, firewall openings and the bulkhead connectors are all different.
