Welding Plastic Fuel tank

Did I see someone welded their plastic fuel tank on this forum? Trying to help someone on the Cummins forum 1st gen section. Can't find it. Was in the last few months.

I do not remember that either.
I guess you do not have much to loose as I assume the tank is leaking already.

My neighbor tried to weld a big plastic water/chem tank. Spent a lot on a kit. He's generally pretty handy but it didn't work for him. Not sure of the details as I wasn't there. But like Oliver said, if it's already leaking, then what's to lose other than his time and whatever the kit costs.

Good luck & let us know how it turns out.

Solid point! At almost $150 to fill up a tank, to would be an expensive mess.
I can locate a good, used OEM tank if need be.

I started searching for it on the Cummins Forums. I got side tracked and ran out of time. I need to replace the upper intake on my '97 Lesabre before the rain gets here. Sorry.

Well, my stupid smart phone won’t let me post a pic of it but I use J—B weld 50139 plastic bonder. I get it on Amazon. It is sand able and paintable and use it to repair unobtainable plastic and rubber pieces on my ‘68 Toronado. When it dries it seems as strong as any plastic…Mark I am not sure if it is compatible with gasoline, but I would be surprised if it isn’t.
