water pump replacement
I don't recall taking the fan off on mine. As far as I remember just take the belt off, work around the fan, it's only two bolts and some cleanup on the gasket surface....get a big bucket, you'd be surprised how much coolant can come out of that hole. It's probably the easiest water pump I'd ever done. And I even fixed a previous owners hack job. They broke off one of the bolts and then instead of fixing it right they drilled a hole beside it and then put a new bolt in.
Made for a major leak. Not fun.

As I remembered, one of the bolts is a MAJOR PITA to remove! You might want to run some radiator cleaner in there before you take off the bad pump. Kill two birds with one stone.
No fan removal needed but it would have made the job much easier since you wouldn't be banging your arms and hands into the fan blades!!! OUCH

Hummm. My water pump doesn't have a gasket, just an "O" ring. I've changed two and didn't have to take the fan off. Drop the belt and I think it's a 7/16th nut but the one behind the fan pully is a bugger to get out and back in. I'm going to get a wratching end wrench to make it easier. I also put some vasalene on the "O" ring and the threads on the bolts.
