Voltage regulator

I think my crank sensor is bad. I lose voltage from anywhere from 30 secs to an hour during this time my A/C does not work. I have changed numerous parts (PCM, ASD relay, cleaned up all chafed wires, CSS wire all looks good). If I add an external Voltage regultor should I disconnect or remove the crank sensor.

93 W250 4X4 195.000 miles Auto Thanks R..

I don't see any reason to remove it.
