Vinyl Wrap
Anyone have experience with vinyl car wraps? I'm wanting to get my truck repainted but have been thinking about just having it wrapped. I would stay with solid red and nothing funky just not sure how good the wraps look up close . Is it grainy or anything?

I don't have any experience with vinyl wrapping but a good friend of mine had the roof and couple areas on the front-end of his Lancer Ralliart vinyl wrapped in black.

The shuttle vans at work have it on them. You can tell it's not paint when you get close. The front has some bubbles and what not where bugs and rocks have hit. Also one of them that is more for the older folks to climb up in is wearing a little heavy around one of the posts where they grab to help them get into the back of the van. There isn't any fading that I can tell and they have all been done a for a few years now and they are always in the Arizona sun.
I wouldn't do it to my truck, just for the fact of how easily it gets damaged, but if I didn't use my truck as a truck then I may look at doing it....if that makes any since.

One of the companies we work with on industrial sites wraps their entire trucks in vinyl. All crew cab long boxes, they go in any colour under the rainbow and come out black with white writing on them. A perfect 20/20 paint job look to them (at 20mph or 20ft)

It probably would be tricky but would seal it up good. I haven't talked to anyone about prices yet and just wanting a solid color makes it hard to compare to prices of companies who get more complex designs.
