So I'm putting my vacuum pump back together, with the seal kit from Cummins. The old seal in between the PS pump and vac pump was totally frozen in place, a mallet and deep socket did nothing, and it was totally mangled by the time I finally got it out.

The directions that came with it are for the non-IC pump, and the pictures are really hard to make out detail on.

Which direction does this seal face ?

I've looked all through the archives here, found nothing so far.

Yes, on any seal the open side faces the oil.
