vacuum

Would a vacuum leak cause the engine to leak more through the crankcase vent hose? I had a leak on mine and thought I fixed it but the hose still sweats a little oil steam (not visible) I can see when I get under the truck.
Is there a good electric vacuum pump I can add to My system to replace the mechanical one on the engine? I have hydroboosted brakes and only need the vacuum for the air vent controls.

Also, is there a special plug on top of the getrag? Mine has one but still leaks oil and I know it isn't the seals since I did all of them well some time ago and I see it is only coming from the top. Could it be that I overfill the transmission too much?

Thank You.

Don't know about your tranny leak, but I used an electric vacuum pump from a 2005 powerchoke, works just fine. probably the only thing under the hood of a powerchoke that works fine

With the intercooled style vacuum pump, yes. A vacuum leak on one of those causes the vacuum pump to pump air into the crankcase.
