Question Un-used bracket on engine mount ???

This ain't any big deal; I'm just curious.

On every one of my engines, on the left engine mount, besides the loop that holds the Positive cable, there is another un-used loop.

What did we not get that should have been in that bracket ??

Thanks.

I think you may be looking at the loop that the WIF wires go though? Well mine goes though a loop down there and I looked and those are the only two that I have. Maybe that isn't what is supposed to be in there, but mine has been there since I've owned the truck.

I always thought it was for a drain hose on the Water Seperator. Just my guess.

That's the right answer. The piece of clear hose probably got lost on the first filter change.

That sounds more like a penalty than a prize, but you asked for it.

Considering it's location and straight-up orientation, directly under the filter, that is sort of what I had expected it to be; of all the many hoods I have looked under, I have just never seen one that still had anything there.

Wouldn't it have been nice to see these things in pristine condition on a dealers lot 19yrs ago. I bet we would find all kinds of neat little things that are gone/forgotten now.
