twins...

not the kind you're probably thinking of. sorry to get your hopes up. anyhow, i just had a crazy idea. has anyone ever tossed around the idea of a twin-filter intake system? basically build a 2 into 1 collector. sure you'd have to buy 2 filters but would probably be practical. i'd probably try mocking up some abs for now since it's cheap and see what kind of clearance issues would arise if any. any thoughts?

not to shoot your idea down im just wondering what you are trying to accomplish by using 2 filters?? why not just use 1 good quality filter?

i have often wondered if you would gain any boost by just clamping a filter to the turbo? so it does not have to pull as hard, if that makes sence?

i've read discussions about that. probably wouldn't make any more boost and you'd run hotter. you'd be pulling hot air in since the filter would be right next to the manifold. i don't think the turbo has any trouble pulling the air it needs through the intakes like asa and such. the stock tubes are worse because of the bellows, they have a bit more restriction and create turbulence.

I would say you would be sucking a lot more hot air in with the filter right on the turbo. Too close to the manifold that way.
