1993 charging problems

I currently own a 93 custom built aka mega cab dually prototype cummins& auto bought it 2 years ago from kansas cant find any history on it other than "federal" emblems it as a stretch cab 3rd door raised roof with tv vcr couch to bed combo 276,000 miles definately one of a kind will be posting pics soon we run this truck on a average of 2to3 thousand miles a month back in feb the alternator decided to charge wide open while out on the road burned the computer up we swapped the alternator ordered a reman computer and have had charging problems ever since the overdrive and all other functions works fine my question is can this be wired to use the old style regulator and if so does anyone have a diagram or insight on doing this
Thanks DeWayne

That is rather an abrupt turn in the course of the thread.

Hmmm, some would say that a continual lack of giving thanks might result in all sorts of problems so maybe it's closer to the subject line than it appears?

Regardless, Happy Thanksgiving to you all too!

happy thanksgiving all.

93megacab... welcome aboard! when you've got a new question just hit the new thread button that appears on when you are looking at all the threads. to answer your question, yes you can run an external voltage regulator. the 89-91 had them. as for the wiring diagram i believe someone posted one a while back, if not someone here knows how. use the search option to try to find it, if you can't post a new thread asking for a how-to!
