Turbo questions

I am wondering where is the best place to buy a turbo for my 91 Cummins that is going in my Suburban? My buddy has one off an 03 he is bombing out. Would it work? Or would I be better off with a new HX35? I bought another with a broken exhaust ring and have decided to either get my buddies or go new. I want a fun to drive a quick spooling Suburban that can tow on occasion. Here is a link to the one I had on EBay.

i'd check out high tech turbo if i were you. they have good products for good prices. the stage 3 or stage 4 would be a good place to start. i'm not advertising for them or anything, just have had very good experiences dealing with them.

All you need is a turbine housing or a backplate. Worst case it will cost you $150 to use that turbo. DO NOT bother with your buddy's '03 turbo, the exhaust housing is very restrictive and cannot be changed out. If you really want a new one, I second Dave's reccomendation of HTT. You tell them what you want to use the truck for and they'll build what you need.

Wow that sold fast!

I guess I sold my turbo too cheap it was sold as soon as I checked on it. I will call on the turbo from HTT. I also need headers?? pipes, etc... I am just learning but having fun with this project. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

You'll need some sort of a downpipe. The 1st gen style pipe should work well because it tucks in pretty close to the engine. If you didn't get one with the engine you can get one from http://www.bigexhaust.com
