I'm right there with ya.LOL

I've added as much fuel as I think I can get out of the stock injectors and timed it over 1/8". I figure since it breathes easy with lots of air flow in and 3" DP with the rest 4" it should stay well safe.

As far as EGT's, I have a couple friends with mid 12 second Dmaxes and at the end of the run (0-111mph) there pyro is reaching 2200*

Hope you don't mind me chiming in. I hit 1350 F at WOT with a 21cm pulling my boat (7200 lbs.) up one side of a 65 foot draw bridge elevation @ 60 mph with just the mods in my sig. TIMINVA hit 1200 plus with my truck on the dyno last month. Aluminum melts at 1270 F. and the oil can only handle so much cooling. Ask Dieseldude4x4 about gauges. It got real expensive not having them.

There was that little addition of POD's!

so... how do you go about blocking the waste gate?, just make a plate to cover?

I have a free 12cm, and could use the low end snap, but I have auto w/stock Torque C, so loosing alot of low end power, the 12 may do more harm than good to my situation (heavy tow, low speeds)

janb: I think towing heavy at low speeds would make you a good candidate for a 12 cm housing. If nothing else, it'll be a good experiment, since the 12 can be found real cheap. Blocking the wastegate is not too involved-just don't hook the diaphram to a boost signal!

edit: I see you've already got the 12

The 12cm should help you. It will build boost faster to help you get the load going. Towing at low speeds you need a quick spool.

A 14cm non WG would be an awsome addition. With the stall of the auto and the mid size of the 14 you would get much quicker spool and not totaly restrict the exhaust. A 14 with stock injectors and turned up pump should be safe and not over boost. With POD's your on your own there. LOL

If you find a good source for 14cm housings let me know. I was looking for one and they aren't easy to find. When you do find them they are $$$$

www.htturbo.com has the 14cm non WG housings for $155. They have all sizes down to the 12cm non WG.

I would not buy a non-wastegated 12 or 14 cm housing unless you are absolutely positively sure that you will never, ever put bigger injectors in. Both of those housings are too small to run with larger injectors, you will be unable to keep the boost under control.

There's no reason to buy a 12 cm non-gated housing anyway, you can get wastegated ones for really cheap.

If I was to put high flow tips on my stock injectors would I still be safe with a 14cm turbo housing? right now my truck is pushin out about 15 lbs of boost max and I dont know if the 16 will spool as fast as I want for lower end towing

If your only pushing 15lbs of boost, even with a 16cm housing, than you just need to turn your pump up more. I still have stock injectors and with my 16 I was pushing ~26lbs of boost, than I switched to the 12cm housing and now I am pushing ~28lbs.

What are your plans, bigger injectors? stay with the 16. Stock injectors get a 12cm housing.

I have the stock turbo housing and I might go to bigger injectors but I was just wondering if I could use 14 cm non wasted gated turbo housing without blowing off the head
