Turbo Boost
year of truck? transmission? fill out your signature in the user control panel---that info will help others to help you. is it a stock first gen? (89-93) you should see 0 psi at idle and prolly no more that 14-18 psi under full load pouring all the coals to it.
Did the update thing!! Just took it for a run and when I put my foot in it it went to 23 or so. I guess thats OK by the look of it. Now if I could just get the tack to work??? Next is to hook up the piro. When I drill the hole is there a danger of getting metal filings in the turbo? if yes any sugestions??

Yah you will want to either plug up exhaust and drill while it is running or remove turbo drill and tap suck up shavings with shop vac and sweep with a magnet. If you decide to drill while truck is running wear some safety goggles you don't want to get a metal shaving in your eye.
Some say they grease the drill bit to help capture the shavings. Personally, it only takes a little bit of time to take the turbo off the truck and then you can see what is going on inside. Once drilled, nice and easy to clean it out. That way it also helps in making sure you are not too close to the edge of the manifold and not really in the middle of the manifold. But more to the slightly left of center, I think. Plus having the turbo off the truck, it allows YOU to take to good look at it and see if any play in the vanes. A little side to side (I think) is fine but not up and down as that could hit the housing. Plus, good time to paint with some paint that withstands high heat.
I see you just installed a boost gauge. Get the 16 turbo and watch the boost climb even more then what you have seen. If you can afford the turbo, do it now. You won't regret it.
