Trying to fix passenger seat lift support strut

The passenger seat lift assist strut on my truck has a broken piece. Sorry, I don't know the exact name. It is the bolt that screws into the frame of the seat that the strut clips onto. The ball on the end broke off. My local parts guy says the part is obsolete. We tried some he had or other vehicles, but none work. Has anyone found a part that works or have another good fix. I will keep my eye out for a donor truck part, but that my take awhile.
I appreciate any help.

On the left side of the passenger seat of my 1993 W250, there is a strut that attaches to the frame and the left side of the seat. It runs back and attaches to the floor behind the seat. It appears to assist in lifting the passenger seat and stopping it before it hits the windshield. The part that attaches it to the seat frame is broken. I can get some pics tomorrow.

The P. O. broke the windshield flipping the seat up because this was broken. I just put a new windshield in and want it to remain unbroken!
