I bought some new poly strut bushings for my 91 2wd and discovered tonight that the right strut rod is bent Are these available new or is it a wrecking yard item ? Looks like someone tied a chain around it at some point in its life. I may try to put it in a press if i cant get a new one and straighten it.

 

not sure, but struts are usually tempered; like a spring and will resist a press... Let me know how it comes out...

 

Finally got time to fix the strut rod today. Layed it on a piece of railroad track steel and beat it back straight with a 4lb. hammer without using heat. Not as hard as i thought it would be.Installed new poly bushings while i was at it.
