Truck Shocks

So i have been around this site for a while now and have been reading some great information on what these trucks can do. I have found myself in a dilemma, along with a few other people that I have run into. And that problem is shocks for our trucks.

Now it is not a problem with finding them as they are everywhere. But what fits our truck when we do certain upgrades or OEM replacements.

How about a thread dedicated to just shocks. It could be as simple as I used these shocks when I did this. Thread should have brand, part number, and supporting mods specific to why you chose that style.

I am looking for a good shock for when I upgrade my springs to Moog7226S. I am finding bits and pieces all over and it would be nice to go to one thread and be able to look it up.

Anyways, let me know what you think and feel free to post up what you have.

well im in need of shocks pretty bad. i have rancho's right now... but with a leaf spring based truck, shocks hardly help the ride. so i will proably go with something cheap..... proably something form checker or autozone.....

There is probably some truth to this in the case of a 1stGen Dodge. Mine came with the Skyjacker kit that included their re-branded Rancho 5000s and the ride was typically poor. But earlier this year I upgraded to 9000XLs and the improvement was very noticeable. They are spendy, but worth it IMHO, when you consider the ride quality you will be suffering otherwise. I'd guess any top tier offering be it Bilsteins or whatever will give the best results.

If you don't care about the ride quality at all, just do like you said get the cheapest you can find.
