SMARTY 305 HP TRUCKS vs 325hp trucks

need opinions on the 2 hp trucks because im getting ready to buy a truck and want know how the smarty performs on the 305hp truck. ive had a couple 250hp early 03 trucks and a couple 325hp trucks and the smarty feels way stronger on the 325. 325 trucks on level 3 feel like the 250hp trucks on 9 to me. just wondering what the 305 is like.

Nicer than the 325's .

Your are asking a very difficult question to answer. Some softwares work well on the 305's, some do not, I am going to assume the same is true for the 325's.

I happen to have a 305 that responds well to most Smarty programs, TNT was a bit of a challenge, but I have it dialed in now and it performs nicely.

If you are going to purchase a truck based on how you believe the Smarty will affect it's performance, I believe you could be passing up an otherwise good vehicle.

well, i didnt want to complain but my 250hp 03 truck is pretty weak compaired to the 05 trucks ive had. im kinda on a budget now so i really dont want to be putting injectors in the truck. trying to stay with the smarty and intake and exhaust.

A Smarty on a 250 will create the same amount of HP as the 305. As an example the 100hp setting will increase the HP on the 250 by 150hp.

Mikey above is right. The 325 has better ECM and a bigger turbo. That is the big difference, less than the smarty itself.

You will see results on the 305 close to the same as the 250.

If you want better fuel mileage though, then the 305 has the advantage.

325's have a inferior piston design. More 325's melt down with added fuel and timing. Better mileage with the 03-04 design. 03-04 has a inferior head design -- more dropped valve seats.

I believe the higest HP made on these trucks was a 03-04 truck.

In the end I suppose it depends on what money you want to spend for more power.

What he said..
I have an SO 2003 with an HE351 turbo upgrade, MBRP and BHAF. My truck is a 5 speed with 4.10 rear. On SW8, it will get sideways when I hit 3rd gear. Not dumping the clutch, just burying the loud peddle.

High mileage diesel trucks can surpass 500k miles, but finding them for sale is rare as owners often keep them due to their reliability. While the engine may last long, other parts like the transmission and suspension may not. It's crucial to inspect these trucks thoroughly and consider their maintenance history. For heavy towing, diesel trucks are preferable, but for lower mileage and budget concerns, a gas truck might be a more suitable option.
